Default Divorce
A divorce granted when one spouse fails to respond to the divorce petition within the required timeframe.
Example
After her husband failed to respond for 30 days, she obtained a default divorce.
Canadian Equivalent
In Canada, this is referred to as Undefended Divorce (when respondent does not file an answer).
