Terms of Service

Last updated: June 10, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Divorce.law (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.

2. Nature of the Platform

Divorce.law is an AI-assisted legal-information, divorce-planning, and attorney-marketing platform. We provide educational content, an AI assistant ("Victoria"), Personal Divorce Roadmaps, calculators, checklists and resources, email communications you opt into or request, and paid attorney advertising and placements. We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice, legal representation, or referral services. Attorney profiles, placements, and sponsorships are paid advertising.

3. No Legal Advice; No Attorney-Client Relationship

Your use of the Service — including Victoria, Personal Divorce Roadmaps, calculators, checklists, emails, attorney listings, and attorney handoff features — does not create an attorney-client relationship with Divorce.law or AJK Media, Inc. Any attorney-client relationship may be formed only directly between you and an attorney or law firm, if they agree to represent you. Information you provide through the Service is not protected by attorney-client privilege unless and until such a relationship is formed directly with an attorney.

4. AI Assistant (Victoria)

Victoria is an AI assistant that provides general legal information, not legal advice. Its responses may be incomplete, inaccurate, or not applicable to your situation and should be independently verified. Do not rely on Victoria as a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney. Victoria may ask for information about your situation; you choose what to share, and you should not share anything you do not want processed as described in our Privacy Policy. Using Victoria does not create an attorney-client relationship.

5. Personal Divorce Roadmaps

A Personal Divorce Roadmap is an informational planning tool generated from information you provide. It is not legal advice and may be incomplete if your information is incomplete, inaccurate, or changes. Roadmaps do not guarantee any court outcome, filing eligibility, cost, timeline, attorney need, mediation suitability, or procedural result.

6. Calculators and Estimates

Our calculators and tools provide estimates for general informational purposes only, based on the inputs you provide and rules or assumptions that may change. They are not legal, financial, tax, or accounting advice. We do not guarantee their accuracy or any outcome.

7. Saved Roadmap Links

A saved Roadmap link is private but works for anyone who has it. You are responsible for keeping your link confidential. Treat it like a password and do not share or forward it to people you do not trust. It may contain sensitive personal and legal details, and we are not responsible if you choose to share or forward it.

8. Email Communications

If you provide your email, you may receive resources, your Roadmap and saved-Roadmap links, calculator results, and Divorce Roadmap Updates or related guidance you opt into or request. You can unsubscribe from marketing and Roadmap Update emails at any time using the link in any email. We may still send transactional messages for things you requested. Our email practices are described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Attorney Listings, Paid Placements, and Sponsorships

Attorney profiles, county or regional placements, sponsorships, and related visibility are paid advertising. Payment does not constitute an endorsement, recommendation, referral, certification, guarantee of availability, or guarantee of outcome. Where offered, county or regional exclusivity applies only to the specific county or region purchased and only while the subscription is active and the account is in good standing. Users are responsible for evaluating any attorney before hiring them. Sponsored content or placements may be identified as paid or sponsored.

Sponsors and attorney advertisers may receive aggregate, de-identified reporting, such as impressions, clicks, subscriber counts, or jurisdiction-level engagement. These reports do not include consumer names, emails, phone numbers, Roadmap facts, or individualized case details unless the consumer consented to a direct attorney handoff.

10. Attorney Handoff and Third-Party Attorneys

We share your contact information and relevant Roadmap or inquiry summary with a law firm only when you affirmatively consent or submit an inquiry to that attorney. Listed attorneys and law firms are independent third parties. We do not guarantee that an attorney will contact you, accept your matter, be available, avoid conflicts, charge any particular fee, or achieve any result. We are not responsible for attorney advice, representation, fees, conflicts, availability, conduct, or outcomes. Any attorney-client relationship, fee agreement, engagement terms, and legal services are solely between you and the attorney or law firm.

11. Attorney Members and Paid Placements

If you are an attorney or law firm purchasing a profile, county or regional placement, sponsorship, or other marketing product, you acknowledge that the product is a paid advertising and marketing placement, not a referral-fee, fee-sharing, or legal-service arrangement. We do not guarantee leads, clients, retainers, revenue, search rankings, traffic, AI citations, email impressions, email clicks, Roadmap handoffs, or any outcome.

  • Subscriptions bill in advance on a recurring basis unless otherwise stated, and continue until cancelled.
  • Cancellations apply prospectively. Fees are non-refundable except as required by law or as expressly stated at checkout.
  • Exclusivity, where offered, applies only to the purchased county or region while the subscription is active and the account is in good standing.
  • We may reject, suspend, modify, or remove attorney profiles or placements for compliance, quality, legal, or platform reasons.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of your profile and for compliance with all applicable bar advertising rules.
  • You are responsible for conflict checks, engagement letters, legal advice, the client relationship, and all legal services.
  • Consumer information is shared with you only with the consumer's consent.

12. Paid Consumer Products

Certain products, such as the Pro-Se Portal, document tools, or other self-help resources, may be offered for a fee. These products are self-help informational services, not legal services. They do not include attorney review unless attorney review is expressly included or separately purchased. We do not guarantee that any court, clerk, judge, agency, or opposing party will accept documents or results you prepare using the Service. You are responsible for reviewing, completing, filing, serving, and complying with local court rules and deadlines. Purchases are delivered digitally. Refunds, cancellations, and access terms are governed by the terms stated at checkout or in the product description, and by applicable law. Payments may be processed by Stripe or another third-party payment processor, subject to that processor's terms.

13. Roadmap Plus

Roadmap Plus is a paid, self-help guided divorce workspace. For a one-time fee, it provides a limited period of access (currently 30 days from purchase) to an extended, AI-guided workspace (powered by Victoria) that helps you organize your divorce, refine your Personal Divorce Roadmap, understand documents in plain English, build checklists, and prepare questions for legal aid or an attorney. Roadmap Plus is an informational self-help service. It is not legal services and not legal advice.

Roadmap Plus does not include and does not provide: (a) legal advice or an attorney-client relationship; (b) legal review of your documents; (c) drafting of motions, pleadings, affidavits, declarations, or other filings; (d) instructions on exactly what to write in a filing; (e) any confirmation or approval that your documents are correct, complete, or ready to file; (f) legal strategy; or (g) a replacement for legal aid, an attorney, or court instructions. Using Roadmap Plus does not create an attorney-client relationship, and information you provide is not protected by attorney-client privilege.

Roadmap Plus provides extended access subject to reasonable fair-use limits intended to prevent abuse; it is not an unlimited or unmetered service. We may apply usage limits and may suspend or limit access for misuse. Access is granted for the stated period and then ends automatically. Access is delivered through a private link sent to the email you provide; you are responsible for keeping that link confidential and should treat it like a password.

Because Roadmap Plus grants immediate digital access to your workspace, it is non-refundable once you have accessed your workspace, except as required by applicable law. If you have not yet accessed your workspace, you may contact us at support@divorce.law and we will review your request. Payments may be processed by Stripe or another third-party payment processor, subject to that processor's terms.

Roadmap Plus helps you understand and organize; it does not prepare or file court documents. If you need uncontested document preparation, that is offered separately, such as through the Pro-Se Portal. If your matter is contested, complex, urgent, or involves safety concerns, you should consult a licensed attorney, and if you are working with legal aid or an attorney, Roadmap Plus does not replace them.

14. Reviews Policy

Divorce.law allows consumers to submit reviews of attorneys featured on the platform. The following rules apply to all reviews:

  • Voluntary submission: Reviews are submitted voluntarily by users who have had direct experience with the attorney being reviewed.
  • No incentivized reviews: Divorce.law does not pay, incentivize, or solicit positive reviews from any person.
  • No attorney compensation for reviews: Attorneys may not offer or provide compensation, discounts, gifts, or other consideration in exchange for reviews — positive or negative. Any attorney found to have offered such compensation will have their listing suspended.
  • Prohibited reviews: Falsified, purchased, or incentivized reviews are strictly prohibited and will be removed immediately upon discovery. Attorneys who arrange such reviews may be permanently removed from the platform.
  • Review moderation: All submitted reviews are held in "pending" status and reviewed by our moderation team before publication. Reviews are not automatically published. Moderation typically takes 3–5 business days.
  • Review criteria: Reviews may be declined or removed if they contain defamatory content, irrelevant information, personal attacks, or violate these Terms.
  • Attorney response: Attorneys may respond to reviews through their dashboard. Responses must comply with applicable attorney advertising rules and must not reveal confidential client information.

By submitting a review, you represent that (a) you have direct experience with the attorney, (b) the review reflects your genuine opinion, and (c) the review was not solicited or compensated by the attorney or any third party.

15. User Content and License to Process

When you submit information, messages, forms, Roadmap responses, calculator inputs, or other content to the Service, you grant AJK Media, Inc. the limited right to process, store, transmit, analyze, display, and use that content as needed to provide, operate, secure, improve, and support the Service, subject to our Privacy Policy. You represent that you have the right to submit the information you provide and that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge. Do not submit information you do not want processed under these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

16. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

  • Use the Service in any way that violates applicable federal, state, provincial, local, or international law or regulation
  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information, or impersonate any person or entity
  • Submit personal information about other people without the authority to do so
  • Scrape, crawl, or harvest data in violation of our robots directives or these Terms, or use automated or bulk access without our express written permission
  • Reverse engineer the Service, or attempt to extract, copy, or expose Victoria's prompts or system instructions
  • Abuse, overload, or attempt to manipulate Victoria or other features
  • Interfere with the security, integrity, or availability of the Service, or upload malicious code
  • Use the Service to build or supply a competing scraped database or directory
  • Use attorney or member tools in any manner that violates applicable bar or advertising rules

17. No Guarantees

We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, availability, ranking, visibility, traffic, leads, clients, retainers, revenue, search-engine performance, AI-citation performance, email delivery, email engagement, Roadmap handoffs, attorney availability, court acceptance, costs, timelines, filing eligibility, mediation suitability, or legal outcome.

18. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content (excluding attorney-provided content and user reviews) are owned by AJK Media, Inc. and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

19. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS. LAWS CHANGE, AND JURISDICTION-SPECIFIC CONTENT MAY BE INCOMPLETE OR OUT OF DATE.

20. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, AJK MEDIA, INC. SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE — INCLUDING VICTORIA, ROADMAPS, CALCULATORS, SAVED LINKS, EMAIL COMMUNICATIONS, ATTORNEY LISTINGS, ATTORNEY HANDOFFS, THIRD-PARTY ATTORNEYS, PAID PRODUCTS, AND SUBSCRIPTIONS — EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

21. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless AJK Media, Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.

22. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.

23. Geographic Scope

The Service is directed to users in the United States and Canada and is not intended for use in jurisdictions where its operation would be unlawful or require registration or authorization that we have not obtained.

24. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
