Imputed Income
Income assigned to a parent by the court when they are voluntarily unemployed or underemployed to avoid support obligations.
Example
The judge imputed income based on his previous salary when he quit his job during the divorce.
Canadian Equivalent
In Canada, this is referred to as Imputed Income (recognized under Federal Child Support Guidelines s.19 for intentionally under/unemployed parents).
