Terms of Service

Last updated: February 18, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Divorce.law (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Divorce.law is an independent attorney directory that allows consumers to search for and connect with divorce attorneys. We are not a law firm. We do not provide legal advice, legal representation, or referral services. Our directory is a paid advertising platform for attorneys.

3. Use of Services

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

  • Use the Service in any way that violates applicable federal, state, local, or international law or regulation
  • Engage in any conduct that restricts or inhibits anyone's use or enjoyment of the Service
  • Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without our express written permission
  • Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information

4. Attorney Listings

Attorney listings on Divorce.law are paid advertisements. Inclusion in this directory is not an endorsement, recommendation, or referral by Divorce.law. We do not verify the accuracy of attorney-provided information beyond confirming bar admission status where feasible.

Attorneys who list on Divorce.law agree to:

  • Provide accurate and current information about their practice
  • Comply with all applicable attorney advertising rules in their jurisdiction(s)
  • Maintain active bar admission in the jurisdiction(s) they list
  • Promptly notify us of changes to their bar status or contact information

5. No Attorney-Client Relationship

Use of this directory does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and any attorney listed, or between you and Divorce.law. No attorney-client relationship is formed until you and an attorney have entered into a written engagement agreement. Information you provide through this site is not protected by attorney-client privilege.

6. Reviews Policy

Divorce.law allows consumers to submit reviews of attorneys listed in the directory. The following rules apply to all reviews:

  • Voluntary submission: Reviews are submitted voluntarily by users who have had direct experience with the attorney being reviewed.
  • No incentivized reviews: Divorce.law does not pay, incentivize, or solicit positive reviews from any person.
  • No attorney compensation for reviews: Attorneys may not offer or provide compensation, discounts, gifts, or other consideration in exchange for reviews — positive or negative. Any attorney found to have offered such compensation will have their listing suspended.
  • Prohibited reviews: Falsified, purchased, or incentivized reviews are strictly prohibited and will be removed immediately upon discovery. Attorneys who arrange such reviews may be permanently removed from the directory.
  • Review moderation: All submitted reviews are held in "pending" status and reviewed by our moderation team before publication. Reviews are not automatically published. Moderation typically takes 3–5 business days.
  • Review criteria: Reviews may be declined or removed if they contain defamatory content, irrelevant information, personal attacks, or violate these Terms.
  • Attorney response: Attorneys may respond to reviews through their dashboard. Responses must comply with applicable attorney advertising rules and must not reveal confidential client information.

By submitting a review, you represent that (a) you have direct experience with the attorney, (b) the review reflects your genuine opinion, and (c) the review was not solicited or compensated by the attorney or any third party.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content (excluding attorney-provided content and user reviews) are owned by Divorce.law and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, DIVORCE.LAW SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Divorce.law and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
