722.1306 Commencement of in-state enforcement proceeding; out-of-state modification proceeding; communication of enforcing court with modifying court. Sec. 306. If a proceeding for enforcement under this article is commenced in this state and a court of this state determines that a proceeding to modify the child-custody determination has been commenced in another state having jurisdiction to modify the child-custody determination under article 2, the enforcing court shall immediately communicate with the modifying court. The proceeding for enforcement continues unless the enforcing court, after consultation with the modifying court, stays or dismisses the proceeding. History: 2001, Act 195, Eff. Apr. 1, 2002
