A person who, pursuant toan order of attachment, pays or delivers to the claiming agent money orother personal property in which a defendant has or will have aninterest, or so pays a debt he or she owes the defendant, is dischargedfrom his or her obligation to the defendant to the extent of the paymentor delivery.
