NEW YORK CIVIL PRACTICE LAW AND RULES (CPLR) New York State | For Informational Purposes Only CPLR § 214-E Action to recover damages for personal injury caused by theinfusion of such blood products which result in the contracti § 214-e. Action to recover damages for personal injury caused by theinfusion of such blood products which result in the contraction of thehuman immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and/or AIDS. Notwithstanding anyprovision of law to the contrary, any cause of action for an injury ordeath against a proprietary manufacturer of blood products for damagesinvolving the infusion of such blood products which resulted in thecontraction of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and/or AIDS whichis barred as of the effective date of this section because theapplicable period of limitation has expired is hereby revived, and anaction thereon may be commenced and prosecuted provided such action iscommenced within two years of the effective date of this section. Theprovisions of this section shall be inapplicable to any civil actiongoverned by the statute of limitations of another jurisdiction.
