NEW YORK CIVIL PRACTICE LAW AND RULES (CPLR) New York State | For Informational Purposes Only CPLR § 5211 Privilege on examination; immunity § 5211. Privilege on examination; immunity. The court may conferimmunity upon any witness in accordance with the provisions of section50.20 of the criminal procedure law for testimony or evidence in anenforcement procedure relating to disposition of property in which thejudgment debtor has an interest, or relating to his or another person'sclaim to be entitled, as against the judgment creditor or a receiver, tohold property derived from or through the judgment debtor, or to bedischarged from the payment of a debt which was due to the judgmentdebtor; provided, however, that no immunity shall be conferred exceptupon twenty-four hours' written notice to the appropriate districtatorney having an official interest therein.
