NEW YORK CIVIL PRACTICE LAW AND RULES (CPLR) New York State | For Informational Purposes Only CPLR § 6215 Levy upon personal property by seizure § 6215. Levy upon personal property by seizure. If the plaintiff shallso direct and shall furnish the sheriff indemnity satisfactory to him orfixed by the court, the sheriff, as an alternative to the methodprescribed by section 6214, shall levy upon property capable of deliveryby taking the property into his actual custody. The sheriff shallforthwith serve a copy of the order of attachment in the mannerprescribed by subdivision (a) of section 6214 upon the person from whosepossession or custody the property was taken.
