NEW YORK CIVIL PRACTICE LAW AND RULES (CPLR) New York State | For Informational Purposes Only CPLR § 7501 Effect of arbitration agreement § 7501. Effect of arbitration agreement. A written agreement tosubmit any controversy thereafter arising or any existing controversy toarbitration is enforceable without regard to the justiciable characterof the controversy and confers jurisdiction on the courts of the stateto enforce it and to enter judgment on an award. In determining anymatter arising under this article, the court shall not consider whetherthe claim with respect to which arbitration is sought is tenable, orotherwise pass upon the merits of the dispute.
