NEW YORK DOMESTIC RELATIONS LAW (Chapter 14) § 16 — False statements and affidavits DRL § 16 False statements and affidavits /legislation/laws/DOM/A3 § 16. False statements and affidavits. Any person who shall in anyaffidavit or statement required or provided for in this article wilfullyand falsely swear in regard to any material fact as to the competency ofany person for whose marriage the license in question or concerning theprocuring or issuing of which such affidavit or statement may be madeshall be deemed guilty of perjury and on conviction thereof shall bepunished as provided by the statutes of this state.
