**N.Y. Dom. Rel. Law § 272. References in This Chapter.** § 272. References in this chapter. Whenever in this chapter any reference is made to the children's court act of the State of New York, the children's court or a judge thereof, or to the domestic relations court act of the city of New York, the domestic relations court of the city of New York or a justice thereof, such reference shall, on and after the effective date of legislation implementing the establishment of the family court, the officers thereof, and prescribing its powers and duties, be deemed to refer, respectively, to such legislation, the family court or a judge thereof, as the case may be, to the extent that such references may be made applicable.
