**N.Y. Fam. Ct. Act § 512. Definitions.** § 512. Definitions. When used in this article, (a) The phrase "child born out of wedlock" refers to a child who is begotten and born out of lawful matrimony. (b) The word "child" refers to a child born out of wedlock. (c) The word "mother" refers to the mother of a child born out of wedlock. (d) The word "father" refers to the father of a child born out-of-wedlock.
