**Tex. Fam. Code § 201.010. WITNESS.** (a) A witness appearing before an associate judge is subject to the penalties for perjury provided by law. (b) A referring court may fine or imprison a witness who: (1) failed to appear before an associate judge after being summoned; or (2) improperly refused to answer questions if the refusal has been certified to the court by the associate judge. Added by Acts 1995, 74th Leg., ch. 20, Sec. 1, eff. April 20, 1995.
