**Tex. Fam. Code § 82.003. VENUE.** An application may be filed in: (1) the county in which the applicant resides; (2) the county in which the respondent resides; or (3) any county in which the family violence is alleged to have occurred. Added by Acts 1997, 75th Leg., ch. 34, Sec. 1, eff. May 5, 1997. Amended by: Acts 2013, 83rd Leg., R.S., Ch. 392 (S.B. 129), Sec. 1, eff. June 14, 2013.
