**Tex. Fam. Code § 82.021. ANSWER.** A respondent to an application for a protective order who is served with notice of an application for a protective order may file an answer at any time before the hearing. A respondent is not required to file an answer to the application. Added by Acts 1997, 75th Leg., ch. 34, Sec. 1, eff. May 5, 1997.
