TEXAS RULES OF CIVIL PROCEDURE (March 1, 2026) Rule 23 — SUITS TO BE NUMBERED CONSECUTIVELY PART II - RULES OF PRACTICE IN DISTRICT AND COUNTY COURTS Rule 23: SUITS TO BE NUMBERED CONSECUTIVELY It shall be the duty of the clerk to designate the suits by regular consecutive numbers, called file numbers, and he shall mark on each paper in every case the file number of the cause.
