TEXAS RULES OF CIVIL PROCEDURE (March 1, 2026) Rule 36 — DIFFERENT OFFICIALS AND BONDSMEN PART II - RULES OF PRACTICE IN DISTRICT AND COUNTY COURTS Rule 36: DIFFERENT OFFICIALS AND BONDSMEN In suits by the State upon the official bond of a State officer, any subordinate officer who has given bond, payable either to the State or such superior officer, to cover all or part of the default sued for, together with the sureties on his official bond, may be joined as defendants with such superior officer and his bondsmen whenever it is alleged in the petition that both of such officers are liable for the money sued for.
